Trumpeter, composer, Pulitzer Finalist and Doris Duke Awardee Wadada Leo Smith will perform his Pulitzer Prize nominated work, Ten Freedom Summers in 3 parts in 3 cities. Each performance is distinct, representing one portion of this major multi-media work. Part 3 will be performed for the first time in New Orleans at Loyola. Part 2 will be in Houston, TX on Oct. 13 and Part 1 will be in Austin, TX on Oct. 12. The tour is supported by a generous grant from Chamber Music America and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
