The Maroon, which hasn't missed a beat since moving online due to COVID-19, was recently honored by the Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press for their work in 2019. Maroon writers, photographers, videographers and editors were honored with 11 awards for their coverage of, among topics, the Hard Rock collapse and controversial campus events. The Maroon has garnered more than 20 awards from the Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press Media Editors in previous years. The Maroon is advised by Loyola alumnus Professor Michael Giusti.
