Kathryn Lintott, who goes by Kate, was born in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States in 1986. She earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Texas Tech University in 1996 and has lived in the Lower 9th Ward since 2005 with her husband, children and dogs.
Before working at Loyola, Lintott worked for LSU/SDMI, training contact tracers and resource coordinators in Louisiana’s effort to fight COVID-19. Before the pandemic, she worked at a local archaeological firm for more than 20 years.
During her time with the firm, Lintott spent 10 years in the field in the southeastern United States, excavating prehistoric village and historic plantation sites. She then worked another 10 years as the firm’s office manager. Lintott said she facilitated billing, managed timesheets, prepared field equipment and generally filled the role of “knowledge holder and question answerer.”
