Piano and Musikgarten Instructor, Preparatory Arts Program
Helen Honoree Myers, N.C.T.M. has been teaching private and group piano lessons for over thirty-four years. Mrs. Myers holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Loyola University New Orleans. While at Loyola on a music scholarship, she was an active member of the University Chorus. Mrs. Myers is permanently state and nationally certified to teach piano at all levels. In addition to her private studio, she taught private and group piano lessons through the Loyola Preparatory Arts Program from 1986-2000. She recently rejoined the Prep program, as a private and group piano instructor and a certified and licensed Musikgarten instructor. Mrs. Myers is the high school chorus director and teaches Fine Arts Survey and Group and Private Piano at Ursuline Academy. Mrs. Myers was employed as a preschool music teacher for ten years and has been the accompanist for Komenka Ethic Dance and Music Ensemble for the past five years. She was recently awarded the Archdiocese of New Orleans Adult Service Award for volunteering in her church parish for five years in youth ministry. Before teaching full time in the high school division, Mrs. Myers enjoyed teaching an after-school Musikgarten program in the Soeur Teresita Early Childhood Center.
