Professor of Practice, Department of Design
Lisa McKinley is a Loyola University New Orleans graduate committed to ensuring her students acquire the same skill set she gained as an undergraduate. She has been designing for over 12 years and has experience with print, television, social media, interactive, and advertising. Lisa has an eye for detail, continuously develops her skills, and expands her knowledge base.
After working for a few years in advertising and traditional design, Lisa received her MFA at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. She focused on collaborating with classmates and community members to conduct workshops and spread awareness of how art can help heal trauma.
In addition to teaching at Loyola, she does freelance graphic design and explores art through the utilization of different creative mediums. One of the most important things Lisa has learned over the past few years is when to step away from the computer and look for inspiration. One of her favorite mediums she experimented with was working with glass and making neon signs using custom lettering.
