JONATHAN McHUGH
Jonathan McHugh is the Hilton-Baldridge Eminent Scholar/Chair in Music Industry Studies in the School of Music & Theatre Professionals at Loyola University in New Orleans. McHugh is a veteran independent TV and film producer/ director/music supervisor who has held high ranking creative and marketing positions at some of the world’s biggest entertainment companies including New Line Cinema/Warner Films, Zomba/ Sony Films & Music & Def Jam Films/ Universal Music over the past few decades.
McHugh has produced 35 films and TV shows with and about some of pop culture’s biggest pop culture stars including Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Janis Joplin, Snoop Dogg, Muhammad Ali and Ludacris.
He has produced TV shows like Paramount’s Sun Records and is currently producing the unscripted show Deeper Than Ink and as well as directing and producing films about Ray Conniff.
He recently directed two documentaries on the psychological profiles of the hard rock fans; Long Live Rock…Celebrate the Chaos and the Comic Con culture with Cosplay Universe.
McHugh has music supervised and produced soundtracks for over 100 visual media projects including Austin Powers, The Wedding Singer, the Saw film series, the film and Starz TV show Blindspotting and currently music supervising season two of the animated Freak Brothers TV series featuring John Goodman, Pete Davidson & Tiffany Haddish and the films Dotty & Soul and Re-election.
McHugh is a Producers Guild Documentary jury member, New Orleans Film Fest board member and former Grammy Trustee/ President of the LA Chapter and co-founder of the Guild of Music Supervisors.
