The Scoop | September 2022

While many think of dance as a fun activity, modern & afro-modern dance professor Kai Knight, is changing the narrative and future of dance at Loyola. Students expressed the desire to have more outlets to express themselves which led to the birth of Loyola’s dance ensemble. Knight’s initiative aims to bring more opportunities to students to connect with, express and heal themselves through dance and movement. 

Whether you are a film fanatic or simply just looking for something to do with friends on a Sunday, I am happy to introduce you to your new favorite campus activity! Film screenings are taking place on the 4th floor of the Music and Communication Complex, Room 402 every Sunday starting at 12:30 p.m.! 

It's Festival Season! Get out and enjoy!

Fall welcomes a break from the steamy New Orleans heat and an impressive collection of festivals. The Greater New Orleans area boasts festivals to fit everyone's tastes ranging from the Fried Chicken Festival, to Latin themed Que Pasa Fest, to a Film Festival. Many festivals are free to attend but be prepared to buy food and drinks.

 

The fourth floor of the School of Communication & Design building was alive with excitement as parents walked into Loyola's first “Parent Party” for the College of Music and Media class of 2026 on Aug 18, 2022. During the summer orientation, parents requested more channels that allowed them to connect with each other, meet faculty and understand the school better.
