Loyola’s Summer Design Camp is a chance for high school students to discover the different areas of design. But, whatever one’s goal in life—from accountant to zoologist —this program is a fun, creative, hands-on experience that will get you thinking and creating.

Students may attend one or both sessions.

Each session, students may choose to attend the Graphic Design and/or Interactive Design Track.

Students may spend 2 weeks in the same track if they so choose.
TUITION
Early Bird Discount: Tuition paid before April 1, 2020
- $425 for one week.
- $750 for two weeks.

CAMP INFORMATION

Camp takes place in Monroe Hall at Loyola University New Orleans.

Classes are held in new studio spaces complete with state of the art technology and equipment.

Hours: 9am-5pm

Students must be entering 9th-12th grade.
Lunch is not provided. Bring a bag lunch. - This is a day camp only.
- 15 students max per experience.
WHO SHOULD COME TO DESIGN CAMP
❖ Students eager to learn more about design in a college environment
❖ Beginners interested in developing skills and creativity through hands-on experiences
❖ Rising 9th-12th graders wanting to meet other creative students their age
❖ Students who are curious about the world around them and have ideas for how to make it better.
CAMP EXPERIENCES
Students can choose from two experiences:
A. Graphic Design Experience will explore typography, visual narrative, illustration, photography and motion design.
B. Interactive Design Experience will explore visual narrative, coding, 3d printing, motion and game design.
Participants will leave with an understanding of the links between their knowledge and skills and how they can apply those to help understand and create the world they live in.
FACULTY:
Noel Anderson is a New York/New Orleans-based motion designer and educator, focused on branded content, video art, mixed media installation, and motion theory.
Daniela Marx is a Professor in the Department of Design at Loyola University New Orleans.
John Seefeldt is Chair of the Department of Design and Associate Professor of Interactive and New Media at Loyola University New Orleans.
