Recently nominated as New Orleans’ Best Clarinetist by Off Beat Magazine, Gregory Agid is solidifying his place in New Orleans’ musical tradition with the release of his debut record, Mystery Blues. Produced by Delfeayo Marsalis, Mystery Blues showcases Agid’s unique approach to improvisation on the clarinet through original compositions and standards. The quartet will celebrate with a cd release party at the Little Gem Saloon on February 28 at 8 and 10 p.m. “The time has come to share our music with the world,” says Agid. “We wanted to make a record that showcased our musical roots while looking into the mystery of the future. You have never heard a clarinet sounds like this!” The Gregory Agid Quartet will host a series of events to celebrate the release of the record. On February 28, the band will release Mystery Blues at the Little Gem Saloon in New Orleans, Louisiana sets at 8 & 10. The Band will then travel to Jackson, Mississippi to perform at The Yellow Scarf Jazz club on March 1. Returning to New Orleans on March 5 to perform at their weekly gig at La Maison. On March 6, the band will hold a master class at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts
