Born and raised in New Orleans, Wayne Maureau has been a member of the New Orleans music scene for 20 years. Known for his diverse skills he is called upon to back artists, both local and international, in all genres of music. Throughout his career, he has performed across the United States and overseas and is featured on over 20 recordings. At present, he performs regularly with New Orleans Blues and Funk legend Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Organica, Chris Mule’ and the Perpetrators, The Jimmy Carpenter Band, Spyboy, and Los Otros Latin Band. He has also released two recordings of his original compositions and arrangements. Wayne has served as adjunct faculty percussion instructor at Loyola University, and Delgado Community College since 1997 and is a member of the Loyola Faculty Jazz Septet. In 2005 he published “The Multi-Stylist Drummer”, a method book based on his approach to the drumset. His career has earned him endorsements with Fortune Drums, Aquarian Drumheads and Bosphorus Cymbals.
