Kristi Jacobs-Stanley, Theatre Arts alum '04, has received the honor of being selected to serve as the 2018 Queen of the Krewe of Freret. Jacobs-Stanley continues to spread the love and art of theatre through her role as the Theatre Director and the Faculty Chairperson for the Fine Arts Department at Mount Carmel Academy.
The press release by the Krewe of Freret has this to say about Jacobs-Stanley: "Queen Kristi Jacobs-Stanley is a born and raised Gentilly girl who attended Cabrini High School. She received her B.A. in Theatre from Loyola University, and a M.F.A. in Theatre Management from The University of Alabama/Alabama Shakespeare Festival. She is the Fine Arts Department Chair, and Theatre Director at Mount Carmel Academy. She serves on the board of the Louisiana High School Speech League, Louisiana State Thespians, and is Co-Moderator of the New Orleans Catholic Forensic League. Kristi's passion is theater education, and she has worked at theaters across the country including Seattle Children's Theater and Missoula Children's Theater. She currently resides in Gentilly with her husband Marcus and daughter Basil Marie."
