1997 Loyola New Orleans graduate, Amy Arpan, has found success working as an actress for law enforcement training at Woodlake Meeting Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Arpan helps the Crisis Intervention Team of Dodge County train new sheriffs by acting as someone in a crisis situation so that the officers-in-training can see first-hand what it takes to help someone who needs it. As the rate of crisis intervention incidents in Rochester increase, there is a growing need for officers to be well-informed and well-prepared when it comes to dealing with those suffering from mental illnesses, substance abuse, or other situational crises. It’s Arpan’s job to play that role and aid new recruits in developing the skills they need to deal with whatever they may come across while on call.
