Throughout the year we have had many challenges but that never stopped our TAD students from taking on greater challenges and making them into opportunities and or learning experiences. Although this isn’t all of the great work that students have accomplished throughout this year, a shoutout to encapsulate the determination in this community is in order.
Starting off we have our Seniors taking the industry by storm. Cameron Mass is now a Professional Props/Costume Designer for three major Louisiana companies: JPAS, Rivertown Theaters, and most recently Southern Rep. Elexis Selmon was a Stage Management Intern at the New Orleans Opera for Die Walkure Act 1. Gabriela Lopez Ruiz was also a stage management Intern at the New Orleans Opera for An Homage to Josephine Baker. Izzie Odell was booked as ASM for Le Petit's Choir Boy & SM team for Nola Project's: Treasure Island. Sarah Schuler will be performing in the production of Cinderella. Junior Nora Cullinian won 1st place in Upper College Treble Musical Theatre at Southern Region NATS 2021. Last, but certainly not least, Jada Williams performed her first role in the production, Fairykind the Musical.
Congratulations to these students for taking on these challenges and opportunities. This only represents the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the talent, dedication and drive we see throughout Loyola’s Theatre Arts and Dance Program. The love and support for the TAD community is forever growing and we can’t wait to see what more is to come from such a talented group of people.
